MOGUL NEWSLETTER JUNE 2010

                                                                                                                                 27 June 2010

Dear Fellow Brahman Breeders

We are delighted to report on another successful year and to invite you to our Open Day on Sunday 15 August 2010, when you will be able to inspect the animals we will be selling at the 2nd Bizzy Invitational Bull and Stud Female Sale to be held at Grafton Saleyards on Saturday 4th September 2010.

Glen and Mogul Witchita were featured on the national news during the Sydney Royal Easter Show (see our website).  Mogul Witchita, with the “Hand of God”, was shown to the world and went on to win the Senior and Grand Champion Brahman Bull and Supreme Brahman Exhibit.  Glen was made a Show Champion and was recognised with a Long Service Award for 25 years’ service to the RAS NSW for his contribution in the cattle section.

We hit the road with our show team, winning Senior and Grand Champion Brahman Bull with Mogul Witchita at Guyra, Dubbo Beef Expo, Sydney Royal and Maclean shows.  Mogul Yalumba was Junior and Grand Champion at Inverell, and Junior Champion at Dubbo Beef Expo and Sydney Royal Easter Easter Show.  Mogul Zander was Junior Champion at Guyra and Maclean shows.

Mogul Miss Fontenot 12th was Senior and Grand Champion Female at Guyra, Dubbo Beef Expo, Sydney, Maclean and Grafton shows and was also Supreme Female at Maclean and Grafton shows.  We were also very successful with our junior females.  Mogul Miss DA Sasha was Junior Champion Female at Guyra, Dubbo Beef Expo, Sydney, Maclean and Grafton shows. Mogul Miss VL Sue Ellen was Junior Champion Female at Inverell.

At the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show we won the Premier Breeder Award for the third time for being the most successful beef cattle exhibitor against all breeds.  We won the Kyabra trophy for the 20th time, as the most successful Brahman exhibitor at NSW shows.

We would like to congratulate Lantasia Organic Foods for coming third in the Australian National Field Days Grass-Fed Grow-Out Trials with steers sired by Mogul bulls.

In July 2009 we sold Mogul Vigilanti, Mogul Woomera Manso (2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show Best Exhibit) and Mogul Washington to New Caledonian breeders, accompanied by four elite heifers.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Open Day on Sunday 15th August 2010.  Come to Mogul to see what we have to offer – from 8:30am.

The first progeny of El Ja Budweiser (poll) have been weaned and are outstanding.  You will be able to inspect these calves as well as our Grafton and Rockhampton sale team.

Our lead red bulls for the sale this year are sired by DB Rebel 139/0.  DB Rebel sired our top-selling heifer at the 2009 inaugural Bizzy Invitational sale.  Our female offering this year includes an outstanding red heifer by VL Rojo Grande 15/2(imp).  Mogul is the only Brahman stud in Australia using semen from this top red bull.  A line of six exceptional grey females in calf to the poll sire Yenda V 64/8 is also being offered.

See our website www.mogulstud.com.au for ongoing news and more about the sale on 4th September.
