Dear Fellow Brahman Breeder

The NSW Stud Brahman Female & F1 Commercial Female Sale has been delayed and will now be held on Saturday 11th May 2019 commencing at 11.00 am at the Casino Saleyards.

At last year’s sale we obtained the top prices for our red and grey heifers.

This year Mogul will be offering an outstanding line up of five Red Stud Brahman Heifers - Lots 1 to 5 - and two Grey Stud Brahman heifers - Lots 27 and 28 – see our website www.mogulbrahmanstud.com.au for photos and links to their pedigrees.

On Saturday 1st June 2019, Mogul Brahman Stud will be hosting a major Field Day: “The Role of Brahman F1s in the Beef Industry” on behalf of the NSW branch of the ABBA.

You will be able to inspect the 10 bulls we will be selling at the Casino All Breeds Bull and Female Sale to be held on Saturday 27th July 2019. We will also have on view and for purchase a select group of red and grey weaner heifers and a number of working age bulls.

We will not be participating in “The Land” Beef Week in northern NSW this year.

In the last two years, our investment in Simmental and Charolais bulls has paid off with strong demand and many compliments for our commercial F1 Females and Steers. There will be similar cattle on display at the Field Day on 1st June.

After Mogul Frontier F256 (P)’s successful showing at the 2018 Sydney Royal Easter Show, where he was Senior and Grand Champion Brahman Bull and Best Brahman Exhibit, he was sold to Peter and Joy Newman of Rathlyn Brahman Stud, Emerald, Queensland at the 2018 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale.

At the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Mogul Hendrix H287 (D) followed in his footsteps by winning Junior and Grand Champion Brahman Bull and Best Brahman Exhibit. Mogul Hastings H265 (D) was Reserve Junior Champion Brahman Bull.

Mogul also won all of the group classes.

Mogul Hastings H265 (D) and the bull which came third in the same class, Mogul Homeland H232 (D), will be offered at Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale on 7 to 9th October 2019 and will be on display on 1st June 2019.

All three of these Mogul bulls are the offspring of Kenrol Gordian Manso 2690, our top producing red sire.

Mogul Miss CL Maria (AI) (P) was judged Junior All Breeds Champion Heifer at the 2018 Casino Show at 11 months of age. The following week, at the Lismore North Coast National Show, she received the Junior and Grand Champion Brahman Female awards and was Supreme Brahman Exhibit.

In November and December 2018, Dr George Jacobs and his wife, Janice, attended the 2018 World Brahman Congress and National Show in Bucamaranga, Colombia, judged by Jim Williams of V8 Ranch, Texas, USA. They visited several major ranches in Cordoba, Colombia prior to the Congress, enjoying the hospitality of Colombian Brahman breeders. The cattle at the Show were an outstanding display of Brahman genetics. There was a strong emphasis on purity of breed characteristics and structural correctness.

We were saddened that many of our Northern Queensland Brahman friends’ herds were devastated by the huge floods in February 2019 and hope the road to recovery will be swift and uneventful.

We wish you all the best in the coming year.

Yours sincerely
